1. WHAT DOES IT MEAN ev/tv/a4-80?
EV = electrolytically galvanised TV = hot dipped galvanised ON = untreated A1 = stainless steel 303 A2 = stainless steel 304 A4 = stainless steel 316/316L /316Ti A4-80 = stainless steel 316 class 80 / 316 Ti class 80
2. can DEMU anchors be welded?
Yes, with the exception of inserts 1074-A and 1168-A and connectors 1551-M6 to M10, all steel products can be welded.
Welding, also tack-welding, DEMU products can negatively influence the mechanical properties of these products. This can affect the maximum load and other properties in use (for example the thread) of the product.
DEMU refuses any liability or possible damage originating to or caused by welded DEMU products.
For DEMU products the following generally applies: If welding in the application is unavoidable account must be taken of the following:
For DEMU rebend connections: Welding, also tack-welding, and heating material in and just outside the bend zone is not allowed. 3. what thread quality is required in the fixing accessories to be turned in?
The fixing accessories to be turned in must fit the ISO metric system. These bolts/threaded ends are usually available from ironmongers. For construction purposes in combination with products without re-usable plastic nailing plate the bolt must be turned in at least over a length of 1.2 x d_nom.
4. what does Galvanic corrosion with bar and bolt anchors?
Bar and bolt anchors in the stainless steel version consist of two metal alloys, being a carbon steel concrete bar, bolt and an austenitic stainless steel connector (usually A4-80). Because these anchors are sometimes applied in a humid environment the question is regularly asked if galvanic corrosion can occur. Two metals in a humid environment should automatically result in galvanic corrosion, but things are not that simple. Various parameters must be present to cause a serious form of galvanic corrosion. Only if all criteria are met can serious galvanic corrosion occur. In most cases one or more criteria are not or not fully met resulting in no or just about no corrosion. In practice it is therefore rare for serious corrosion damage to occur as a result of this form of deterioration. For more information on the parameters see the report: Galvanic corrosion of DEMU bar and bolt anchors. NCC project number: CAD - 2003-53 dd. 28-11-2003 (in English).
5. WHAT IS THE Screw-in lengths 4010/3010 (stainless steel)/3016/2010 (Ø40)?
For each bar size the screw-in lengths (a sizes) of the bar anchors differ per bar type. The following is a summary of these screw-in lengths.
Table: a-sizes type bar Ø12/M16 Ø16/M20 Ø20/M24 Ø25/M30 Ø32/M42 Ø40/M48 4010 EV/TV 25 33 38 48 65 - 3010 A4-80 29 35 46 60 - - 3016 EV 29 35 46 - - - 2010 Ø40 EV - - - - - 48
